Elisabeth Lutyens Centenary Concert

1st July
The Warehouse, London
Kreisler Ensemble

Matilda Hofman (conductor)
Natalie Raybould (soprano)

Kreisler Ensemble, conducted by Matilda Hofman, celebrate the Elisabeth Lutyens centenary with a programme that reflects the influence of this pioneering woman on British music. Some of Lutyens' finest music can be heard tonight.

The group also perform music by living composers. Robert Saxton was one of Lutyens' students, and Eloge sets poems by the great 20th century poet Saint-John Perse. Elena Langer's beautiful mono-opera, Ariadne, won the Priaulx Rainier Prize in 2002 and this is a rare chance to hear it again. Deborah Pritchard's new work for the Kreisler Ensemble will be given its première, alongside a new wind trio by Nirmali Fenn.
